Course Goal / Objective
The main goal of this course is to introduce the concepts and contents of formal (explicit) and implicit curriculums to the individuals who will be teachers; to comprehend the impact and importance of the extracurricular activies on the cognitive, affective and psychomotor domains; to provide students with the necessary qualifications to organize social, cultural, sportive and artistic activities.
Course Content
The subjects of the course are the concepts of explicit (official) and implicit (hidden) curriculum; the approaches of hidden curriculum; the roles that hidden curriculum has on the cognitive and affective domains; the role of the extracurricular activities in the official and hidden curriculums; the importance of the extracurricular activities in terms of the academic achievement, sense of school belonging, personal and social development, and democratic citizenship education. At the end of the course, an extracurricular activity (memorial, celebration, meeting, sharing, etc.) will be developed and implemented in a school.
