Course Goal / Objective

Students have knowledge about basic concepts of Pharmaceutical Technology course. Know basic pharmaceutical calculations, processess and techniques used in Pharmaceutical Technology.

Course Content

Basic information about Pharmaceutical Technology Introduction, definition, history, pharmacopoeia and publications, pharmaceutical metrics and units, prescription information and dose calculations, liquid form drug delivery systems, aerosols, emulsion and suspension systems, water for pharmaceutical purposes, extraction and control, extraction technology and extraction, pharmaceutical preparations, dressing materials and surgical materials, drug containers, packaging materials, packaging types, classification of packaging, packaging examples according to packaging materials and controls.

LO01 Students understand and apply basic calculations, comprehend precedures and technics in pharmaceutical technology.
LO02 Students can evaluate drug delivery systems using basic concepts in the field of pharmaceutical technology.
LO03 Lists the method of preparing the solution, liquid form drug delivery systems, and the checks made.
LO04 Surgical materials and pharmaceutical preparations will be able to evaluate the properties of packaging materials, which can determine the characteristics of packaging materials.
LO05 Solubility describes the concepts of dissolution rate and stability.
