Course Goal / Objective

By recording the experiences of people who witnessed important events in the student's immediate surroundings, it is aimed to participate in an oral history study or to research the village, neighborhood, street or a historical cultural place in which they live, in this direction, to learn history starting from the local and to develop historical awareness.

Course Content

Oral history studies and local history studies have attracted attention as an important field in recent years. In the first 5 weeks of the course, how to do oral history research and local history research will be discussed. Then, the students who take the course will be asked to identify a topic as an oral or local history study, and their work will be taken as homework at the end of the semester. Midterm theoretical final exam is considered as homework.
