Course Goal / Objective
This course aims to teach prospective teachers to approach psychological phenomena from a developmental perspective; to know the basic theories in the field of development; to be able to recognize the cognitive, emotional, behavioral, social and physical changes that occur during the developmental process; to gain the ability to comprehend the effect of culture in the developmental process and to apply the knowledge gained in the field of developmental psychology to real life experiences of children and adolescents.
Course Content
This course covers the topics such as the relationship between education and psychology, basic concepts of educational psychology, physical development, cognitive development, language development, personality development, moral development, sexual development, classical conditioning, operant conditioning, social cognitive approach, information processing theory, brain-based learning, etc.
