Course Goal / Objective
The aim of this course is to have general knowledge about wetland ecosystems, to understand the function and value of wetlands, to increase awareness on anthropogenic effects and develop solutions, to protect wetland, to aim sustainable living as an individual and to enable those around them to gain this.
Course Content
Importance and amount of water for human and environment from past to future, General information about wetland ecosystems, internal and external factors affecting these ecosystems, classification of wetlands from rivers to swamps, functions and values of wetlands for the world, problems and solutions of wetlands, Sustainability and aquatic ecosystems in sustainability, water footprint, carbon footprint, ecological footprint, wetlands of our country, relevant legislation, protection, restoration and management
