Course Goal / Objective

To examine the studies in Turkey and in the world about the basic concepts and practices of open and distance learning.

Basic concepts and philosophy of open and distance learning; development of distance education in the world; The development of distance education in Turkey; learner and guide roles in distance education; technologies used in distance education; open educational resources and trends in the world; massive open online courses; problems and recommendations regarding open and distance education; developing teaching materials in open and distance education; research and evaluation in distance education
