Course Goal / Objective
This course deals with the definition of social psychology, research areas, social and cultural aspects of human behavior, people's values, beliefs, attitudes, and theories. This course aims to introduce social psychology to students. The course starts with the definition of social psychology, its method and the historical development. The basic topics that are included in this course are: attitudes and attitude change, social perception, social cognition, conflict and aggression.
Course Content
The topics are: A brief history of social psychology, theory and research methods in social psychology, theoretical paradigms in social psychology, social perception, social cognition, social influence and power, attitudes and attitude change, interpersonal attraction and close relationships, prosocial behavior and aggression.
