Course Goal / Objective
Teaching the basic concepts and principles of electricity and magnetism and consolidating them with experiments. Furthermore, it is aimed to introduce the applications of electric and magnetism events in technological and daily life.
Course Content
Electric charge and electric field; Gauss law; Electric potential; Capacitance and dielectrics; Current and resistance; Direct current circuits; Magnetic fields ;Sources of the magnetic fields; Faraday law; Inductance; Alternating current circuits; Electromagnetic waves. In addition, the following experiments are carried out by each student during the semester and the student submits a report for each experiment on time: Van De Graaff generator and load concept, investigation of AC and DC waves by using oscilloscope, equivalent potential curves, reading of resistance and Ohm's law, serial and parallel connections of resistors, charging and discharging of capacitors, Wheatstone bridge, current balance, Faraday induction law and transformers, compensation tests.
