Course Goal / Objective

To discuss the place of grammar in the new Turkish curriculum, to introduce the ways of impression, and to examine middle school grammar acquisitions.

Course Content

Basic concepts of grammar; Basic features of Turkish in terms of sound, form, meaning and syntax; the purpose of grammar teaching and grammar teaching; Evaluation of grammar teaching models and approaches (Behavioral, Cognitive and Constructivist) in Turkish Course Curriculum; Grammar outcomes in Turkish Language Teaching Program (Grades 1-8); Subjects (phonetics, morphology, semantics) in grammar teaching and the order to be followed in teaching; methods and techniques, examples of activities; text-centered grammar teaching applications.
