Course Goal / Objective
The creative documentary course aims to bring students together with new ideas, methods, examples, contents to produce successful, meaningful, creative documentaries and to enable them to understand visual storytelling by prioritizing creativity. By strengthening the link between theory and practice, it is aimed to raise awareness about different traditions in the history of documentary film, to ensure that they are inspired and to develop different approaches to the subject. While the student produces his creative documentary project within the course, innovation and originality will be encouraged in his approach to local stories.
Course Content
In this course, Creative Documentary will be discussed under five main headings as documentary idea development strategies; documentary storytelling as art; digital documentary filmmaking techniques; new documentary forms; distribution and financing.
