Course Goal / Objective
This course aims to gain specific aspects of design that directly related to horticulture and landscaping. To gain a basic knowledge of horticultural design, landscape, irrigation system, urban horticulture, greenhouse construction . To become familiar with a range of factors that can affect horticultural design in a cultivated environment.
Course Content
The course covers a diverse range of topics and skills spanning the field of Design in Horticulture. Students will complete units on basic principles of design, plant growth, and shape, floriculture (including floral design and greenhouse construction). Management of fruit, vegetable, and flower production, designing of various growing systems (vertical farming, urban agriculture system), design with the breeding of horticultural plants, training design, design of irrigation system, introductory landscape and greenhouse design.
