Course Goal

The aim of this course is to provide students with information about the culture that occurs in the virtual world and to have knowledge about the conceptual discussions and method necessary to conduct research on the emerging digital culture.

Course Content

In this course, the network society, virtual communities and their culture will be explored and digital cultural applications will be discussed. Cultural research, an online research method originating from culture, is to understand social interaction in contemporary digital communication contexts. Cultural research is a specific set of research practices related to data collection, analysis, research ethics and representation based on participant observation.
