Course Goal / Objective
To explain what the collection preparation process is, to explain the factors to be considered while preparing a collection, to prepare original and creative collections.
Course Content
In this course, all technical details about preparing a collection, the process of preparing a collection, the transition from a single product to many products, the harmony between products and the presentation skill are explained to the students in this course. The collection preparation processes of businesses and designers in the ready-to-wear sector are analyzed. Students are asked to identify a theme. In the light of the chosen theme, students conduct research on the market, target audience, train (fabric, color, pattern, model, etc.) and prepare a story and color board. It designs garments and garment complements using ready-to-wear and high fashion technologies. Ready-to-wear and high fashion collections are designed by creating new product designs in the light of new trends, together with brand experience, and using design principles and elements together with high fashion materials, craftsmanship and sewing techniques. He chooses the products that should be in his collection, makes the production and presents the collection.
