Course Content
Significance of energy production and consumption in waste treatment, wastewater treatment and energy budget, energy conservation and ecological and economical benefits, comparison of energy aspects of waste treatment systems, Energy production from wastes: major aspects, Anaerobic biotechnology and biogas production, principles of anaerobic biotechnology, biogas production from municipal and industrial wastewater, biogas production from landfill sites, biogas production from agricultural wastes, operational considerations, reactor types, production of biofuels from algal biomass and other biomass, Environmental impacts of production of biofuels from wastes, Climate change effect of using biomass
