Course Goal

To main aim of this lecture is to gain knowledge and skills to students about the aquarium systems and its equipment, recycle systems and their management; water quality and its control in aquarium systems.

Course Content

Type of aquarium systems and their definition, setting up, design and mechanization; aquarium materials, their definition and usage; recycle systems, filtration and their kinds in aquaculture; environmental factors in aquarium systems, water quality and its control.

Course Learning Outcomes

Order Course Learning Outcomes
LO01 Recognizes the aquaculture systems used for aquatic organisms, lists them; selects the appropriate aquarium, system and equipment according to the system type and can also explain their applications by ordering
LO02 Establishes and manages recirculation systems and biological filters, which are considered very convenient and controlled for aquaculture, using the latest technologies.
LO03 Listing the names, justifications, and uses of all equipment required for a trial aquarium, set up the aquarium and apply the information necessary for the trial to run properly.
LO04 Knows the physical and chemical properties of the water to be used in aquariums and knows and applies the necessary controls to ensure its control and continuity.
LO05 Understands all the dynamics of pool, tank, fiberglass, glass, cage systems and knows and applies fertilization protocols for biological production required according to their characteristics.
LO06 Knows what disease factors can be faced by breeding systems and how to detect them, and can choose and apply treatment methods that can be used in diseases.
