Course Goal / Objective
To teach the use of molecular genetic techniques in animal production, to train modern technologists in animal production
Course Content
Genetic engineering a short story, nucleic acids, the enzymes used in genetic engineering, host cell types, cloning vectors, polymerase chain reaction and application in live stock, transgenic animal production, recombinant molecules, transgenic animal applications, polymorphism methods and significance in livestock, molecular genetic applications in animal nutrition, molecular genetic applications in animal husbandry.
