Course Goal / Objective

To examine the word Ebru etymologically. To learn the opinions and resources on this subject. To know the stages and the development process from the 15th century, when the first examples were given, to the present. To examine its place in classical and post-Ottoman art and its current situation comparatively. Obtaining references that will shed light on the present by seeing the color and composition order in historical examples. To make marbling with traditional methods and methods and today's material possibilities.

Course Content

General information about Turkish marbling art history, important masters and styles. Introduction of classical Turkish marbling materials, preparation of brushes and paints. The usage areas of Turkish marbling, its basic forms, ground and oversize marbling studies.
