Course Goal

To provide students with basic knowledge and skills to diagnose child abuse and neglect, to communicate with children and their families who are abused and neglected, to take an active role in the treatment and rehabilitation of children in need of protection and their families / dependent adults, and to work in collaboration with other healthcare team members.

Course Content

Risk factors of child abuse and neglect, types of abuse and neglect (such as physical abuse, sexual abuse, incest, pedophilia, peer violence, neglect, medical neglect, substance use, etc.), Child Protection Law No. 5395 and its operation in practice
