Course Goal

Exposing the student to basic physical principles of LASER light production and to provide up to date basic information on the contempoary applications of LASER

Course Content

History of LASER, light-matter interaction, optical transitions and population inversion, spectral distribution, loss, gain, mode locking, Q-switching, propertiesof laser light, laser types, applicatios of lasers
