Course Goal

The primary goal of "The Design Methods" course is to equip 3rd-grade Ceramic art students with a comprehensive understanding of design fundamentals, both historical and contemporary. Through the exploration of various art mediums, techniques, and global influences, students will gain a holistic view of art design. They'll develop skills in ideation, digital tool utilization, and sustainable design practices. By the end of the course, students will have effectively conceptualized and presented their individual design projects, showcasing their ability to meld theory with practice in the creation of art objects.

Course Content

"The Design Methods" course, tailored for 3rd-grade Ceramic art students, embarks on a journey from understanding the foundational principles of design and its rich history spanning from ancient pottery to modern ceramics. Students will delve into various art mediums, the psychology of color, and the intricacies of texture, while exploring global design influences and the contemporary trends in art. Emphasis will be placed on sustainable design, the utility of digital tools, and collaborative learning through critiques. The course culminates in students presenting their individual design projects, showcasing their grasp on the design process and the realization of their creative concepts.
