Course Goal / Objective
Aim of this course is To teach how to conduct a methodological study on the location of a dam in geology engineering aspect and to investigate the problems in major water bodies such as dams in details; to teach the geological factors that affect the selection of dam type.
Course Content
to the dam site research and selection of appropriate structures, geological, geotechnical and hydrogeological conditions, stability and permeability studies to determine the type of dam, dam placement of additional structures, injection screen and the depth of the problems encountered and solutions, natural building materials research, case studies is explained in this course.
