Course Goal

Aim of this course is To teach how to conduct a methodological study on the location of a dam in geology engineering aspect and to investigate the problems in major water bodies such as dams in details; to teach the geological factors that affect the selection of dam type.

Course Content

The water problems of engineering structures and practices for the purpose of research. Tightness examination methods, the choice of the appropriate method of insulation. Injection molding, slurry trench (thick walls), the elastic thin wall methods. Membrane applications, depending on the nature or grounds on which method would be feasible for the basic technical and economic investigation of the application is explained in this course.

Course Precondition

Have basic geology knowledge

Resources
