Course Goal / Objective

To teach the concepts and applications of paleosismology

Course Content

Basic concepts used in paleosismological studies. Recognition methods of old earthquakes. Definition, classification and aging of geological and geomorphological structures formed by the former earthquakes. Interpretation of the seismic behavior of the welded structure by evaluating the surface reflections of the seismogenic structures. Current examples from the world and Turkey.
