Course Goal / Objective

To understand how plants interact with pathogens in terms of ecological, physiological and genetic aspects and investigate resistant plant development methods

This course includes ecological, physiological and genetic interactions of plant interaction with pathogens

LO01 Learns the survival strategies of pathogens in perennial plants and seeds in the absence of host plants.
LO02 Learns the survival strategies of pathogens in the soil and as epiphytes.
LO03 Learns how do pathogens establish infection with plants with enzymes, toxins, growth regulators and polysaccharides
LO04 Learns the defense mechanisms of plants against pathogens. For this purpose, they learn active and passive defense mechanisms in plants.
LO05 Learn about induced resistance mechanism in plants, gene theory against genetic interactions between plant and pathogens.
LO06 Learns biotechnology and genetic engineering techniques to develop disease resistant plant.
