Course Goal

The concept of "visual culture" is aimed to discuss the role of "design" in functional or artistic dimensions in visual culture. Understanding visual culture interactions in design, reading visual language in design and works of art, aiming to gain new perspective.

Course Content

In this course, it is aimed to examine the concept of visual culture and to discuss the role of design in functional or artistic dimensions in visual culture. Artists and designers will be examined with their works, institutionalization and presentations, and designer public interaction will be mentioned. While examining the concepts of visual culture and design within the interdisciplinary approach, painting, sculpture, textile, costume, film, poster, furniture, graphic design etc. will be discussed in a variety of formats. It was aimed to expand the students' visions in the field by making use of contemporary museums and exhibitions during research and examinations.
