Course Goal

noThe general aim of this course is to teach to Ph.D. candidates how to develop psychometric measurement tools (scales), which are frequently used in educational researches, or how to determine validity and reliability of psychometric measurement tools that are planned to be used in a research.

Course Content

Scale devlopment process, procedure of scale devlopment process, defining scale type, creating item pool, gathering data through the pilot study , collecting and arranging the scale data, implementing explanatory and confirmatory factor analyze, definition of factors and calculating reliability scores, creation of report.

Course Precondition

Students must have taken a basic statistics course during master of education.
