Course Goal / Objective
The students learn basic concept and principles of plant biotechnology
Course Content
Definition and classification of biotechnology- principles of in vitro culture- nutrition of plant cell, tissue and organ cultures- nutrient media-test tube fertilization- embryo culture- meristem, shoot tip and bud culture- callus culture-cell culture-protoplast culture-production of haploids, -somaclonal variation- somatic hybridization- gene transfer in plants.
