Course Goal / Objective
The aim of this course is to provide an understanding of the historical and cultural context of writing while equipping students with the knowledge and skills necessary for effective writing instruction in primary education. It seeks to develop students' proficiency in teaching and applying cursive writing, enhance their understanding of the importance and proper use of signatures, and foster awareness of the art of calligraphy, enabling them to acquire fundamental skills in this field.
Course Content
The course explores the historical development of writing and its significance as a medium of communication and a field of graphic application. It provides a detailed explanation of the fundamental principles, objectives, and goals of teaching writing in primary education. Within the framework of cursive writing instruction, activities such as preparatory exercises, hand training, and the writing of uppercase and lowercase letters as well as numbers are included. The importance of signatures in personal and professional life is emphasized, and techniques for creating an appropriate signature are covered both theoretically and practically. In the section on calligraphy, examples of calligraphic writing from different cultures are examined, along with an introduction to the tools and materials used in this art form and its preparation processes. Hand exercises for calligraphic writing are conducted, enabling students to engage in creative writing practices.
