Course Goal / Objective

By the end of this course, the student is expected to understand quantitative methods for collecting and analyzing spatial data in the planning and management of natural and cultural environments, apply fundamental data and spatial analyses used in landscape planning, transform data into information, and utilize it in planning studies.

Course Content

Evaluation of information related to land use planning with the help of Spatial Decision Support Systems, revealing the most appropriate land use type in landscape planning studies with maps through multi-criteria evaluation. To introduce many indices produced within the discipline of landscape ecology for the evaluation of landscape structure and ecological processes using landscape metrics.
