Course Goal / Objective

It is aimed to provide the ability to present, present and defend the desired product in a certain time period, in line with a determined requirement program and the presented conditions, in an area that requires detailed landscape designs of different scope and scale.

Course Content

In this course which comprises designing studio works, detailed designing is done with co-operation of related local authorities in an area (40-80 decare) allocated for active green area or recreation area in a construction plan of a city in Çukurova environment. Within design package scope, there are definitions of location, function, relation and problem (1/1000-1/500), identification of subject, objective, and aim, organization of requirement schedule, linear and written explanations of observations and findings, conceptualization work and development of conceptual drawing options (1/500), formation work on selected conceptual drawing option and create preliminary drawing (1/200), area correction according to the first draft and reshaping work, structural and botanical works, detailed structural and botanical works selected from preliminary work (1/200), plan dimensioning works, preparations of cross-sections and phenomena, presentation work. A medium scale individual project work; Site analysis: elevations, slopes, soil, climate, vegetation, drainage-elevations, land management, land capability, visual features, development potential. Conceptual land use plan. Master plan.

LO01 Designs the process and scope of preparing a project file in the context of landscape design studies.
LO02 It distinguishes the importance and awareness of being able to produce the desired product in a given field, within a certain time period, in line with a specified program of requirements and presented conditions.
LO03 Reflect the information gained in the courses (Basic Designing, Landscape Designing, Botanical Designing, Landscape Structure) (Basic Design, Landscape Design, Plant Design, Landscape Structures, etc.) that constitute basis for designing studio works onto multipurpose designs of a real environment as two and three dimensioned forms.
LO04 Prepares a report on the design description.
LO05 Draws a comprehensive landscape design, and develops written and oral presentation skills.
