Course Goal / Objective
To develop mathematical models closest to the physical situations encountered in engineering problems and to analyze these models in appropriate forms and evaluate the results
Course Content
Basic concepts of modeling. Fundamental laws. Derivation of model equations and boundary conditions. Examples of mathematical modeling in chemical engineering. Solution techniques for models yielding ODEs. Numerical solution of ODEs. Solution techniques for models yielding PDEs.
