Course Goal / Objective

In textile production; To teach the process of making raw textile materials into products and the applied finishing processes. Pre-treatment, dyeing, printing and finishing processes applied for this purpose; to teach and examine dyestuffs, methods and machines by supporting them with visual examples. Dye and printing processes applied for the coloring of textiles; To teach and examine dyestuffs, methods, dye-printing techniques and machines, special printing techniques by supporting them with visual examples.

Course Content

Introduction to textile finishing. Importance of textile finishing. Textile pretreatment processes. Bleaching, basic treatment, desizing, mercerization, washing, drying and others. Dyeing methods: extraction and impregnation methods. Paint machines. Functional finishing processes of textile materials. Water and oil repellency. Water and oil repellent finishing application in the laboratory. Performing water and oil repellency tests.
