Course Goal / Objective

This course aims to teach fundamental mathematical methods used in economic analysis. Students will acquire the mathematical tools necessary for constructing, analyzing, and solving economic models. Topics covered include optimization, matrix algebra, differential and integral calculus, difference and differential equations.

Course Content

Basic mathematical concepts, functions and graphs, limits and derivatives, use of derivatives in economic analysis, optimization techniques, matrix algebra and linear equations, linear programming and constrained optimization, integral calculus and economic applications, difference and differential equations, dynamic models and economic growth, mathematical models in economics, mathematical methods in game theory, connections with statistics and probability theory.
