Course Goal / Objective
Nursing graduate students are able to evaluate the situations that fall under the scope of malpractice during their clinical practices and working life and to take the necessary precautions to avoid making professional mistakes; therefore, to guide them to ensure the safety of their patients, themselves and other healthcare professionals.
Course Content
Malpractise: conceptual framework and definitions, patient rights, Heaith professionals rights, Patient safety, health professionals safety, defects and liability, legal responsibility of health professonals, case report,distinction of malpractise-complications, medical malpractise and risk managemen , criminal sanctions of malpractise,situations commonly encountered by nurses in malpractice, professional liability insurance, example cases and analysis.
