Course Goal / Objective

This course explores ecological design principles, energy-efficient strategies, the relationship between architecture and ecology, LEED certification principles to optimize building performance, Passive House design strategies for energy efficiency and thermal comfort, the integration of passive and active design approaches, and sustainability performance-driven building solutions.

Course Content

This course provides an in-depth understanding of ecological and sustainable design principles, focusing on integrated sustainable architecture. Furthermore, it explores the application of the green building standards and rating systems in green building practices. Students will learn how to integrate these standards within architectural design to achieve energy-efficient, environmentally responsible, and human-centered buildings. The course combines theoretical learning with practical applications, offering tools and knowledge to design and assess high-performance buildings that align with global sustainability goals.
