Course Goal / Objective

The first aim of the course is to provide the interpretation of art terminologies, which is a part of the architect formation, through cinema, which is the seventh art for space. It will be ensured that designers gain intellectual depth through film readings that will turn the act of watching movies, which young individuals interpret as a part of popular culture, to which they currently devote their attention, energy and time, to an intellectual tool in architectural design.

Course Content

This course brings new perspectives to common definitions at the intersection of architecture and cinema disciplines. In the common axis of architecture and cinema arts, visuality, movement, assembly, frame, cutting, composition, light, perspective, symmetry, texture, shadow, size, volume, fullness, space, color, convergence, creating vistas, function, structure and space in architectural terminology. The cases will be commented on through the films.
