Course Goal / Objective
The aim of this course is to enable students to identify and analyze the theoretical underpinnings of the process of teaching English as a foreign language to children and to incorporate this theoretical knowledge into the teaching process; lesson planning, material preparation, and assessment.
Course Content
Introduction to Young Learners (YLs): Characteristics of YLs; How YLs think and learn; Determining priorities, syllabus, and coursebook; The nature of activities for YLs; Classroom Language; teaching language structures; Teaching vocabulary; Stories: Reading and telling stories; Classroom management; Assessing YLs.
