Course Goal / Objective

To increase students' awareness in relation to the role and importance of English in intercultural communication.

Course Content

The use of English as an international language, English as a common language and English with its different uses; reflections of these usages on education; the development of students' awareness of the relationship between language and culture and the examination of the place of the culture in language teaching; evaluation of textbooks, literary works, films, TV in terms of cultural objects
