Course Goal / Objective

Understanding basic concepts , development and the importance of health economics, understanding the supply, demand and economic evaluation methods of health services market in terms of economic analysis of health sector, health systems, health services financing, health policies and health expenditures in national and international level To gain knowledge and skills about this course is the main objective of this course

Course Content

This course; Introduction to health economics, basic concepts and development of health economics, Definition of health expenditures, types, affecting factors, Supply of health services, Factors affecting the supply of health services, price elasticity of supply, Demand in health services, Factors affecting demand in health services, price and income elasticity of demand, Financing of health services, purpose, importance, concept of equity, Efficiency in health institutions, Globalization and Health Economics, Financing systems of health services, Financing systems of health services (cont'd), Health services market and the role of the State, Economic evaluation in health services, Course evaluation; includes topics.
