Course Goal / Objective

The aim of this course is to explain the role of philosophical arguments in the emergence of economics.

Course Content

General definition of economic philosophy, relationship between economics and other social sciences, analysis and discussion of philosophers and sociologists who contributed to economic thought, Analysis of Physiocracy and Mercantilism movements, Adam Smith and the emergence of liberal economics, Karl Marx philosophy, Keynes versus Liberal Economics,
