Course Goal / Objective

Industrial economics first emerged as a sub-branch of microeconomics that examines the conditions of competition, and then shaped as a field that examines the strategic interactions of firms by incorporating the developments in non-competitive game theory into the theoretical infrastructure of competition structures. This course will focus on strategic competition and its impact on market structures and the design of competition policies that maximize social welfare.

Course Content

This course covers problems of economic systems, economic events, sides of economic events and their modes of behaviors, consumer theory and profit maximization, profit maximization theory of the firm, firms decision-making processes in different markets and the factor markets.
