Course Goal / Objective

This course aims to analyze the functioning, structure and role of financial markets and institutions in the economic system at the doctoral level. The basic components of the financial system, asset pricing theories, market efficiency, financial crises, regulations and central banking policies will be covered comprehensively. Students will be able to evaluate price formation processes, investor behavior and global capital movements in financial markets with theoretical and empirical methods. In addition, current financial innovations, FinTech, blockchain technologies and sustainable finance are also examined, aiming to develop an in-depth understanding of the dynamics of the modern financial system. At the end of the course, students are expected to have theoretical and analytical skills that will contribute to academic discussions on financial markets and institutions, develop policy recommendations and conduct advanced research.
