Course Goal / Objective

The aim of this course is to develop the knowledge of architecture students on building materials and components, metals, polymers and wood materials, binders, cement and aggregates, concrete and ceramics, and their skills in concrete mix calculations.

Course Content

This course includes information about the materials used in construction, metals, polymers and wood, binders, concrete aggregates and cements. In addition, the subject of concrete, which is the most common material in construction, is comprehensively addressed and the properties sought in concrete, resistance to external effects, concrete mix calculations, shrinkage, hardened concrete properties, concrete additives, concrete production works, statistical quality control, special concretes, ceramics and masonry topics are explained.
