Course Goal / Objective

Objective of the course is to give the capability of using quantitative techniques for decision making; problem identification, model building and solving.

Course Content

Deterministic and probabilistic inventory models, with a focus on fundamental probability distributions, including normal, binomial, and Poisson distributions. Single-channel and multi-channel queuing systems are analyzed to evaluate waiting line dynamics. Topics such as deterministic dynamic programming, Markov chains, decision analysis, and game theory are explored. Simulation-based modeling techniques are examined, and solutions for classical optimization problems are developed. Solution methods for constrained and unconstrained problems are discussed, while nonlinear programming algorithms and quadratic programming are also covered.
