Course Goal / Objective

Recognizes the general concepts about media, Explains the literature on digital media and recognizes digital media products, Evaluates the effects of digital media on children's physical, cognitive, social and emotional development, Interprets and evaluates television programs in terms of suitability for children, Interprets and evaluates internet resources in terms of child suitability, Interprets and evaluates mobile applications and games in terms of their suitability for children, Uses media elements in the educational environment, Develops new suggestions on media suitable for development

Course Content

Children and digital media products (cartoons, advertisements, computer games, websites, etc.), media theories examining the relationships between children and media; the role and use of media and technology in supporting the child's cognitive development, the role and use of media and technology in supporting the child's social-emotional development, the effect of the media on the development of the child; The role of family and school in accessing and using digital media
