Course Goal / Objective

This course aims to understand the role of veterinary medicine in public health, the connection between animal health protection and human health, and the responsibilities of veterinarians in combating zoonotic diseases. It also aims to provide basic information on food safety, environmental health, and preventive medicine.

Course Content

It includes the importance of veterinary medicine in public health, the concepts of veterinary medicine and medicine (the requirements of being a veterinarian, the educational process and the work areas of the profession), public health and preventive medicine, the one health concept, zoonotic diseases and methods of combating them, the work areas of veterinarians, bioterrorism and global health threats
