Course Goal / Objective

It aims to provide midwifery students with a solid foundation in how complementary and alternative therapies can be integrated from prenatal to postnatal and to develop skills that can effectively support pregnant women.

Course Content

Students understand what complementary and alternative treatments are and evaluate the role of these treatments in pregnancy and birth processes. Learning the basic complementary and alternative treatment methods used during pregnancy, birth and postpartum period and understanding how they are applied. Students evaluate the scientific basis of complementary and alternative treatment methods and the research supporting their effects. The safety, risks and contraindications of complementary and alternative treatments during pregnancy and birth. understanding. Providing pregnant women with information about complementary and alternative treatments, providing accurate counseling and developing effective communication skills in the patient/midwifery relationship.
