Course Goal / Objective

Students to make healthy newborn follow-up, the neonatal period, and to urge all to recognize unhealthy situations is to acquire the knowledge and skills.

Course Content

The state of child health in the world and in Turkey, the importance of the newborn period and newborn terminology, the physiological characteristics of the newborn and its adaptation to extrauterine life, the first care and physical examination of the newborn in the delivery room, possible health problems in the newborn, high-risk newborn care and transport, newborn resuscitation, newborn nutrition and the importance of breast milk in newborn nutrition, breastfeeding techniques, duties and roles of health personnel about breastfeeding, special practices for newborns, psychosocial care in newborns and their families, fluid-electrolyte imbalances in newborns, newborn Scans and conditions that the midwife should refer to, neurological system problems and convulsions in newborns, respiratory problems in newborns, cardiovascular system anomalies in newborns
