Course Goal / Objective

The aim of this subject is to ensure that social studies teacher candidates have knowledge about the theoretical foundations of program development and, accordingly, to ensure that the social studies curriculum is recognized theoretically and physically. It is also aimed to compare the social studies teaching programs implemented differently by prospective teachers.

Course Content

Basic concepts related to curriculum; The development of social studies curriculum from past to present; The approach, content, and skills that current social studies curricula aim to develop; learning spaces; The values it covers; distribution of achievements by classes; the methods, techniques, tools and materials used; measurement and evaluation approach; teacher qualifications.
