Course Goal / Objective
The aim of this course is to familiarise the student with the classical Islamic history texts, to examine these texts and to teach how to benefit from these texts.
Course Content
Introducing the first Islamic historians such as Khalifa b. Hayyât, Ibn Qutayba, Belâzurî, Ya'kûbî Tabarî, Mas'ûdî, Bîrûnî, Maqdisî and Ibn Khaldun and reading their works, explaining the phrases and patterns in the texts.
